Retail Project Design Showroom When introducing color into a space there are many different design ways that can be brought to life. Colors aren’t just used as a background or accent element decor, they play bigger roles being both obvious and subliminal. The easiest way to alter the look of a room is to change up the color scheme. By adding touches of colors, it can dramatically change the atmosphere in a living space. Therefore, my concept is based off the color wheel and will be displaying different types of fabric and colored furniture allowing those to make their decisions on what colored pieces fits their style the best. After having the chance to view furniture they even have the chance to customize colors and fabrics to their likings.

Hospitality Project Urban Uptown & Express

The MBTA transportation line will be incorporated into the hotel design process. The use of wayfinding will help guide guest while creating well structured paths. Each material in the space brings a feature of the concept to life. Including these aspects gives guest a different view of the MBTA experience. There will be linear lines that mimic the trains map as well as the use of the colors of the lines. Each color will be muted down providing a warm and welcoming environment. Exploring through a space is just as fun as riding on a train. This underground bar will take on the theme of tunnel spaces. The space will mimic the arches that form a tunnel. Brick wall, industrial light fixtures, concrete, and wood will help bring the insides of a tunnel space to life. Without these key features being used guest wouldn’t be able to get the full experience. We want to create the idea that they are dining inside of an actual tunnel.

Institutional Project Meeting Street School This concept is based on a butterfly and its growth and development. A butterfly takes on many different stages before its able to spread its wings and fly. The floor plan itself will focus on how the children learn and strive to become better in there everyday abilities. Being able to enhance the growth mindset is the idea that in effort its possible to increase intelligence levels and talents. For the design process each space will be suited for students to feel comfortable while growing academically. The colors in each room will be inspired by the various colors butterflies represent. Wayfinding will be used to help guild those into there desired rooms, furniture that mimics the rounded edges of a wing will also be incorporated, while being accessible. This school will help each child become stronger and they themselves will be able to spread there wings and start there new journeys.

Special Topics Project Port of Call

An anchor represents safety and security for a ship during a storm. Just like an anchor, in this collaborative project Port of Call is a space for it’s users to feel safe and secure. The users of the space are experiencing their own storm as this center provides an opportunity to anchor their ship in preparation for a smooth sailing future. This homeless shelter will act as a space where they can put themselves back together and redirect their new voyage towards a brighter future.

Luminaire Project Golden Spiral The golden spiral can be found throughout nature, most prominently in seashells, flowers, ocean waves, etc. We can find the golden spiral throughout the world of design. The lamp itself will act as a seashell. Not only is the spiral swirl of a seashell important, the curves that take place inside matter as well. The cool light will help the lamp bounce of a beautiful shadow resembling the inside curves of the shell. While the outside curves on the lamp have a twist shape. Using the inner curves to the light fixture it will take form as if it was bringing a seashell to light.

Concept Images

“Spirals are patterns that occur naturally in plants and natural systems, including the weather. They were studied by mathematicians including Leonardo Fibonacci, who tried to understand order in nature. Spirals have also been the inspiration for architectural forms and ancient symbols.

Hand Drawn Projects Mixed Media A collaboration of hand sketches, charcoal drawings, and renderings. Every piece displayed comes from specific projects such as basic and perspective drawing. The drawings that I featured are some of my favorites. Some of the furniture shown play an important role in the History of Furniture. Overtime in my academic years drawing is something that has played a big part in my life. Drawing is meant for you to express yourself, and with that you create more then just art you create ideas that are portrayed into a story. While completing projects sketching has helped me discover some great ideas and solutions.
